# Keren Peles Keren Peles emerged from the small village of Yavne'el in northern Israel to become one of the country's most celebrated singer-songwriters of her generation. After honing her craft at the prestigious Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, she launched her professional career in 2005 and quickly made an indelible mark on the Israeli music scene. Her 2006 debut album, *If This Is Life*, earned gold certification and immediately established her as a formidable talent, earning her the Israeli Ministry of Culture and Sport Award for a Newcomer Songwriter that same year—a remarkable achievement for an artist just beginning her journey. Building on this momentum, Peles released her second album, *Mabool*, in 2008, which also achieved gold status and further cemented her reputation as a compelling voice in contemporary Israeli music. Her artistic range extended beyond recording, as she demonstrated her versatility by composing for theater productions, winning the Israeli Theater Award in both 2008 and 2009.
