# ישי לוי ישי לוי הוא זמר ישראלי בולט ומשפיע במוזיקה המזרחית. נולד ב-20 בינואר 1963 וחל את פעילותו המוזיקלית מ-1976. הוא נחשב לאחד מהשירים המשפיעים ביותר בז'אנר, עם מספר אלבומים שהפכו לקלאסיקות בתרבות During this period, his song "Yaldoont" and his covers of "Lisa Lisa" by Eli Idan and "God Gave You as a Gift" by Ethan Masuri became famous. ### Debut Album: "Chaflah with Ben-Mosh" (1984) In late 1984, his debut album was released, titled "Chaflah with Ben-Mosh featuring vocalist Ishay Levi." The album was recorded following audience demand from seeing Levi perform. Since Levi did not yet have his own songs and compositions, he recorded performances of songs by other Mizrahi singers. As a result of the addiction, his professionalism suffered and he had difficulty attending performances. In late 1987, at a joint meeting in Holon with his girlfriend Iris Gabai and Argov, Iris left with Argov for Rishon LeZion, where according to her account, Argov attempted to force himself upon her. She filed a police complaint and Argov was arrested. On November 6, 1987, Argov was found hanged on a sheet while in custody. ### Third Album: "Begin at the Beginning" (1989) In May 1989, following attempts at drug rehabilitation, his third album was released. The title song spoke about his life and career situation. The song "Rakdi" (lyrics: Abraham Levi, music: Yoav Arbeli) became a hit in the early 1990s and is considered a classic. The song received extensive airplay and he appeared with it on the television program "Populitika" hosted by Dan Margalit on the new Channel 2, and at the rally "Yes to Peace, No to Violence," at the conclusion of which Yitzhak Rabin was assassinated. ### Seventh Album: "Faith" (1995) In December 1994, Levi released the single "Black Curls" (lyrics and music: Mike Loke, arrangement: Avy Kazes), which became a major hit and brought Levi back into public consciousness. The song was originally given to singer Itzik Amer, who authorized Levi to perform it on the condition that he release it after him. Members of "Ethnics" approached the court with a lawsuit to prohibit the broadcast of Levi's version.
