# Harel Tal Harel Tal is an Israeli musician, singer, and composer who leans toward the national-haredi stream. She specializes in Hasidic music and original Jewish music, and plays guitar. She is known for composing songs based on words from Jewish sources and her own creations. ## Biography Harel Tal was born on February 10, 1988, in Neve Dekalim in Gush Katif. She is the daughter of Yifat and Rabbi Shmuel Tal, head of Torat HaChaim Yeshiva. She studied at Torat HaChaim Yeshiva in Gush Katif, and subsequently studied for several years at the yeshiva of Rabbi Eliezer Shlomo Schick in Yavniel. In her childhood, she studied flute and guitar in music classes, and in her youth composed several songs. After her marriage, she studied in a kollel for several years, and subsequently established a wedding band. ## Career In 2008, she released a sketch album titled "Ayah" together with Mordechai Granvitz. In 2015, she released her debut album "Nafshi BeShaltí," produced by Avi Tal and distributed through the "Divrei Shir" company. Her performances feature artists such as Avi Singolda, Amit Yitzhak, Avi Abidani, and Adi Chayit. Her songs are based on words from Jewish sources as well as lyrics she wrote herself. Some of the songs are new melodies for ancient liturgical poems, such as her rendition of the piyyut "Et Dodim Kala," attributed to Rabbi Chaim ben Sahal. The song "Taiti Keshe Oved" received a cover version by Yishai Lapidot titled "Bakesh Avdecha." In 2020, her second album "Karati BeChol Lev" was released, containing twelve songs. Among the songs are: "Teten Acharit LeAmcha" (setting a melody by Shlomo Carlebach to a piyyut from Yom Kippur prayers), "Neima Li," "Ana Elech," and "Tov Hashem LaKol," which were released as singles. The song "Ana Elech" was accompanied by a music video. In 2022, she released together with Torat HaChaim Yeshiva the single "Oked VeHaneked"—an ancient piyyut by Rabbi Yehuda ben Shmuel Ibn Abbas. In 2024, she released several songs: "Veten Banu" in collaboration with students from the Torat HaChaim yeshiva for youth, the duet "Bne Beitcha" with Porat Nov, and "Torah VeTefila" sung together with singer Yisrael Dagan. In Cheshvan 5785, she released the song "Noam Panecha" with a melody by Carlebach in honor of the 30th yahrzeit of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. In August 2025, the medley "Yeha Raua" performed by Tal with thousands of children from national Talmud Torah schools at the Sultan's Pool in Jerusalem was released, on the occasion of the opening of the school year and ninety years since the passing of Rabbi Kook. ## Achievements In 2013, she was conducting a wedding canopy in Beersheba when she was struck by a strong electrical current from the power cable of the amplification system. She was severely injured, receiving electrical shocks and burns, and was rushed to intensive care. She recovered from her injuries and returned to performing after just a few months. ## Personal Life Harel Tal is married to Shira, and the couple has eight children. Until the disengagement plan, she lived in Gush Katif; afterward, she lived in Yavniel and Yitzhar, and currently resides in Yad Binyamin.
