# Narcis Ra'am Narcis Ra'am is an Israeli singer-songwriter specializing in pop and rock genres. Her father, Moshe, worked in agriculture, and her mother, Avivit, was a kindergarten teacher. At age eighteen, she began playing guitar. Following the evacuation from Gush Katif, she moved to Tel Aviv, studied basketball at the Wingate Institute, and led a secular lifestyle. After traveling in Brazil and India, she became religiously observant and settled in Safed. During this time, she ceased her musical activities. According to her account, following her return to religious observance, she received permission from her rabbi to perform before mixed audiences, despite the halakhic prohibition against a woman's voice. Today she performs before mixed audiences and sings alongside men, arguing that her music is "meant to touch all people, not just women." ## Career In 2017, she released her debut album "Let's Speak Truth," which combines lyrical writing with diverse rock music. The first song on the album, "Advice," was the first song she had ever written.
