About Dan Toren

Dan Toren is an Israeli singer-songwriter, lyricist, dubbing actor, television host, and radio broadcaster. Born in Kibbutz Ras El Naqura and raised in Tel Aviv, Toren rose to fame in Israel during the mid-1980s as a television and film actor. He appeared in successful films including "An Intimate Story," "Exams," and "Final Exams," which established him as a youth idol. Beginning in 1984, Toren wrote original songs recorded by other artists, including four songs for Sharon Lifshitz's debut album "Cinema" (1985) and two songs for Rami Kleinstein's debut album "Day of the Bomb" (1986). Over the course of his career, Toren developed a solo career featuring songs such as "Empires Fall Slowly," "White on White," and "This Lie Again." He has been a member of several bands, including "Balagan" with Yuval Mesner and Dana Berger, and "The Flies" with Maor Cohen and Peter Roth. In 2003, Toren co-founded the record label "Peh Gadol Productions" with Shay Lehav, releasing EPs including "Escaping Customs" and "Crossing Boundaries." In 2010, he received the ACUM Prize for encouraging the publication of original works. With 42 years of experience in music, Toren remains a significant figure in Israeli culture.
