# הזמרת הקרחת
אז'ן יונסקו הוא מחזאי צרפתי שנחשב לאחד ממייסדי תיאטרון האבסורד. יצירתו המשמעותית ביותר היא המחזה "הזמרת הקרחת", שהפך לאחד מהמחזות החשובים ביותר של המאה ה-20 והוכלל ברשימת 100 הספרים של המאה של לה מונד.
## ביוגרפיה
יונסקו כתב שירה וביקורת ספרותית בשנות העשרים לחייו ברומניה, אך נכנס לתחום המחזאות בשלב מאוחר בחייו. בגיל 40 החליט ללמוד אנגלית בשיטת "אסימיל", שהעתיקה משפטים שלמים לשינון. תוך קריאה חוזרת של משפטים בנאליים, גילה יונסקו אמיתות מדהימות על החיים שהיו בו זמנית מטופשות לחלוטין ונכונות מעל לכל ספק.
## קריירה
בשנת 1948 כתב יונסקו את "הזמרת הקרחת", שנכתבה תחילה בשפה הרומנית בשם "אנגלית ללא יגיעה" ותורגמה לצרפתית. השם "הזמרת הקרחת" ניתן למחזה בעקבות פליטת פה של אחד השחקנים במהלך החזרות.
המחזה הוצג לראשונה בפריז ב-11 במאי 1950 בבימויו של ניקולא באטיי. ההצגה הראשונית כשלה לחלוטין ולא זכתה לתשומת לב ציבורית, עד שמבקרים וכותבים מוכרים ציינו את גדולתו של המחזה. מאז 1957 המחזה מוצג בקביעות בתיאטרון Théâtre de la Huchette בפריז.
בשנת 1957 הוצג המחזה לראשונה בעברית בתיאטרון זירה בתרגומו של מיכאל אלמז. תרגום נוסף בשם "הזמרת הקרחת" בידי עדה בן-נחום יצא לאור בהוצאת אור-עם בשנת 1986.
ב-31 בדצמבר 2008 החלה הצגתה של אופרה בשם "הזמרת הקרחת" המבוססת על מחזהו של יונסקו, שהלחין את המוזיקה ישראל שרון. ההצגה עלתה גם בתיאטרון החאן בתרגומו של דורי פרנס ובבימויה של מור פרנק.
## הישגים
המחזה זכה להכרה בעולם כאחד מהיצירות החשובות של תיאטרון האבסורד והוכלל ברשימת 100 הספרים של המאה של לה מונד. המחזה נחשב למחאה נגד השאננות והטמטום המחשבתי של החברה המודרנית, וזכה להערכה גם כביקורת על הריקנות בחיי הנישואין.

Eugène Ionesco is a French playwright considered one of the founders of the Theatre of the Absurd. His most significant work is the play "The Bald Soprano," which became one of the most important plays of the twentieth century and was included in Le Monde's list of the 100 books of the century.
## Biography
Ionesco wrote poetry and literary criticism in his twenties while living in Romania, but entered the field of playwriting at a late stage in his life. At the age of 40, he decided to study English using the "Assimil" method, which involved copying complete sentences for memorization. Through repeated reading of banal sentences, Ionesco discovered astounding truths about life that were simultaneously utterly absurd and indisputably valid.
## Career
In 1948, Ionesco wrote "The Bald Soprano," originally written in Romanian under the title "English Without Toil" and later translated into French. The title "The Bald Soprano" was given to the play following a slip of the tongue by one of the actors during rehearsals.
The play premiered in Paris on May 11, 1950, directed by Nicolas Bataille. The initial production failed completely and received no public attention until renowned critics and writers recognized the play's greatness. Since 1957, the play has been performed regularly at the Théâtre de la Huchette in Paris.
In 1957, the play was first performed in Hebrew at the Zirra Theatre in a translation by Michael Almaz. Another translation titled "The Bald Soprano" by Ada Ben-Nahum was published by Or-Am Publishing in 1986.
On December 31, 2008, an opera titled "The Bald Soprano" based on Ionesco's play premiered, with music composed by Israel Sharon. The production was also staged at the Khan Theatre in a translation by Dori Parnes and directed by Mor Frank.
## Achievements
The play gained worldwide recognition as one of the most important works of the Theatre of the Absurd and was included in Le Monde's list of the 100 books of the century. The play is considered a protest against the complacency and intellectual stagnation of modern society, and has also been appreciated as a critique of the emptiness in married life.
